Program Overview

The Certified Nurse Assistant Pre-Certification program is designed to teach students the knowledge, skills, and abilities essential to work as an entry-level nurse assistant in hospitals, assisted living, and long-term care settings. Upon completion, students will be eligible to take the California Nurse Assistant Competency exam to become a Certified Nurse Assistant.


Program Details

  • The program consists of 180 hours of training.
  • It is offered as a tuition-free noncredit program.
  • The program is designed to provide low-cost training to quickly get students into the field.

Admission Requirements

  • Students will be required to pay for a background check, drug screening, and have a current CPR certification.
  • Anticipated out-of-pocket expenses range from $350-$450.
  • The following paperwork is required:
    • Application
    • Negative Drug Screening results
    • TB Test (must be completed within 3 months of program start)
    • American Heart Association CPR/BLS certification
    • COVID-19 Vaccine(s) (2 shots and 1 booster OR recent shot)
