Introduction to the High School Concurrent Enrollment Program

The High School Concurrent Enrollment program at Santa Monica College offers high school students the opportunity to take college-level courses while still in high school, earning real college credits. This program is designed to provide students with a head start on their college journey, allowing them to explore their interests, gain academic experience, and potentially earn a certificate, degree, or advanced standing.


Requirements for Admission

To be eligible for the High School Concurrent Enrollment program, students must meet the following requirements:


  • Have finished 8th grade before the semester starts
  • Obtain approval from their parent and school counselor
  • For summer classes, obtain approval from their school principal

Tuition is free for all California resident students. However, other fees, such as course materials, books, and health fees, still apply.
