Program Overview
Embedded Electronics Engineering - Master's Programme
The Embedded Electronics Engineering programme at Lund University is a 2-year, 120-credit master's degree that integrates digital and analogue circuit design into a single, interactive system. The focus is on silicon-based semiconductor technology, such as CMOS, where billions of devices fit on a single chip.
Overview
Integrated circuits (ICs) are a key technology that powers digital transformation, autonomous vehicles, cloud computing, IoT, 5G/6G, and supercomputers. This unique programme prepares students for a career in Embedded Electronics Engineering, with skills highly sought after in sectors like telecom, automotive, healthcare, and defense.
Teaching and Learning
The programme offers a dynamic combination of lectures, lab work, project-based group assignments, and presentations, ensuring strong theoretical knowledge and practical skills. With strong ties to local and international industries, the education remains highly relevant to real-world applications. Students gain hands-on experience using modern CAD tools, IC technologies, and hardware platforms.
Career Prospects
The programme benefits from strong industry support, providing valuable networking and career opportunities. Graduates are well-prepared for a career in circuits and systems, with a focus on VLSI design. Designers in this field are in high demand on the global job market, with opportunities to work for large international companies or startups.
