Introduction to the European Affairs - Master of Science Programme

The European Affairs - Master of Science programme is a two-year, 120-credit international master's programme that provides students with in-depth knowledge of EU institutions, legislation, governance, and external relations. This programme is designed to equip students with the tools to explore European politics and law, as well as Europe's role in global affairs, preparing them for careers in policy making, diplomacy, or international cooperation.

Programme Overview

The Master's programme in European Studies combines theory-based courses with practical experience and is taught by researchers with in-depth knowledge of European integration. • Political Science: Europe in Global Affairs (Compulsory, 2nd semester, 15 credits)

Year 2

• Elective Courses or Internship (Elective, 3rd semester, 30 credits)
• Political Science: Master's (Two Years) Thesis in European Affairs (Compulsory, 4th semester, 30 credits)

Requirements and Selection

Prerequisites for the programme include:

• A Bachelor's degree with a major (i.e., at least 90 ECTS credits) in Political Science or equivalent
• English course 6 (advanced proficiency) Selection criteria include the applicant's estimated capacity to complete the programme, with students selected according to:
  • Previous study results (grades on courses and thesis in the BA degree)
  • Statement of purpose
  • Proficiency in English
  • An academic writing sample

Tuition Fees

Tuition fees for non-EU/EEA citizens are as follows:

• Full programme/course tuition fee: SEK 270,000
• First payment: SEK 67,500 Note that citizens of the European Union (EU), the European Economic Area (EEA), and Switzerland are not required to pay tuition fees.
