Climate Adaption and Human Rights

The course is conducted in English and comprises five ECTS credits. During the autumn term, the course is half-time study pace and runs over seven weeks.

Overview

The course consists of six modules that are conducted remotely with professionally pre-recorded video lectures and self-correcting tests. At the end of the first five modules, there is a self-correcting test based on the content of the module, and a passing grade on the test is required to continue to the next module. The examination consists of an essay.

Teaching and Learning

The course is divided into six modules that are completed remotely via the Canvas learning platform. It is designed to be flexible and easily accessible. Professionally pre-recorded video lectures with accompanying reading material are available on the course website.

Self-Correcting Tests

To support learning, self-correcting multiple-choice quizzes are available, which can be taken several times. The tests are mandatory to pass in order to move on to the next module.

Examination

To complete the course, students must pass the self-correcting tests for each module. The final part of the course is a compulsory essay related to the material covered. The final grade is based on the result of the essay.

After the Course

Early Discontinuation

If a student does not wish to complete the course, they have the option of early termination by withdrawing within three weeks of the starting date. Early termination allows the student to reapply for the course.

Re-Registration

Students must re-register if they wish to retake a course that they were previously registered for and did not complete. Re-registration is only possible if there is space available and during a term when the course is being offered.

Crediting

This course cannot be included in or credited towards a law degree at Lund University.

Requirements and Selection

Selection Criteria

Priority is given to applicants who have applied before the deadline and are registered to a course or a programme at Lund University the semester before this course starts. After that, seats are allocated according to the following criteria:

• The general average (GPA) of the higher secondary school leaving certificate: 34%
• The Swedish national university aptitude test: 34%
• Number of previous ECTS at application deadline (up to 165): 32% If students have equal credentials, seats are allocated based on their results on the Swedish National University Aptitude Test. If this is also equal, seats are allocated based on a draw.

Tuition Fees

Tuition Fees for Non-EU/EEA Citizens

Citizens of countries outside the European Union (EU), the European Economic Area (EEA), and Switzerland are required to pay tuition fees. The full programme/course tuition fee is SEK 12,917, with the first payment also being SEK 12,917.

No Tuition Fees for Citizens of the EU, EEA, and Switzerland

There are no tuition fees for citizens of the European Union (EU), the European Economic Area (EEA), and Switzerland.
