Program Overview


Program Details

The university program provided is the Sommarkurs: Individuellt konstn‰rligt arbete, which translates to Summer Course: Individual Artistic Work.


Course Description

The course aims to develop, implement, and present an independent artistic idea over eleven weeks, based on a personal project plan. It also promotes individual artistic development through critical reflection on one's own practice and work process.


Course Structure

The course consists of:


  • An introductory meeting with the entire group
  • Three individual conversations with teachers (including an introductory conversation for the project plan and two studio conversations)
  • A final presentation event where the project is presented

Admission

Admission is a two-step process, starting with applying for the course on antagning.se.


Work Samples

In the next step, work samples are submitted, consisting of 3-4 artworks, a project plan, and text describing the artistic work, as well as a motivation for applying to the course.


Eligibility

To be eligible for the course, 60 hp in visual arts or equivalent and a passed work sample, as well as fulfillment of general eligibility requirements, are required. Note that there is a new course plan for 2026, so those who have taken the course before have the opportunity to do it again.

The course is held at Konsthˆgskolan BÂghallarna (Fˆraregatan 4), starting on June 8 and ending on August 23. The course includes:
