Course Description
The course "Devising med barn och unga" is a 7.5-credit course at the undergraduate level, focusing on creating scenic art with children and young people using the devising method. This method involves a collective creative process where participants develop a scenic art performance together.
Course Objectives
After completing the course, students will have:
- Basic knowledge of how to create scenic art using the devising method.
- Understanding of how artistic and pedagogical perspectives interact when leading children and young people in a creative process.
- Ability to plan, implement, and reflect on a devising process, both individually and in groups.
- Skill in taking own artistic initiatives and handling challenges that arise in collaboration.
- A secure, permissive, and creative approach to working with young participants.
Course Content
During the course, students will work both individually and in groups to:
- Choose and process material.
- Plan a creative process.
- Test improvisation exercises and other practical steps towards a scenic art performance.
Teaching Methods
The teaching consists of seminars and workshops where students work practically with the devising method. Students receive both supervision and the opportunity to develop their own ideas. Participation is mandatory and requires preparation between meetings.
Admission
Eligibility
To be eligible for the course, students must have 60 credits in artistic or educational training, or equivalent professional experience.
Selection
Places are allocated based on:
- Grades (20%).
- Higher Education Entrance Examination (10%).
- Number of previous higher education credits at the last application date (up to 165 credits, 70%).

Tuition Fees for Non-EU/EES/Swiss Citizens
The total price for the course is 50,625 SEK, paid in one installment before each term. An application fee of 900 SEK is also required when applying through UniversityAdmissions.se.
Tuition Fees for EU/EES/Swiss Citizens
Citizens of EU/EES countries and Switzerland do not pay application or tuition fees.
