The program in Regi och scenisk gestaltning med barn och unga (Direction and Scenographic Design with Children and Young People) is a 7.5-credit course at the undergraduate level. It is designed to provide students with the opportunity to combine theater science with pedagogy, focusing on leading a group of children or young people in a collective process to create a stage performance.

Course Description

The course teaches students how to plan and implement rehearsals, choose material, and test ideas step by step. It emphasizes both practical creation and reflection on individual artistic initiatives. The course is suitable for those who already have experience in theater, either through education or professional work.

After completing the course, students will have the experience of leading and designing stage art with young participants and the tools to create safe, creative, and inspiring processes. They will be able to work with direction and scenographic design in cultural schools, leisure activities, or other pedagogical contexts.

Course Structure

The teaching takes place in seminars and workshops, both individually and in groups. Students prepare for each session and practice directing and scenographic design with children and young people. The course includes discussions and reflections on relevant texts and ideas and concludes with a written and oral reflection on what has been learned.

Admission Requirements

Basic eligibility requirements include 60 higher education credits in artistic or pedagogical education, or equivalent professional experience.
