Hðlsovetenskapligt BasÍr

The Hðlsovetenskapligt BasÍr (Health Science Foundation Year) is a one-year program designed to provide students with the necessary prerequisites in mathematics and natural sciences to pursue further studies in health science programs. The program is offered at Lund University and guarantees a place in one of the following programs: arbetsterapeutprogrammet (Occupational Therapy Program), fysioterapeutprogrammet (Physiotherapy Program), logopedprogrammet (Speech-Language Pathology Program), r—ntgensjuksk—terskeprogrammet (Radiography Program), and sjuksk—terskeprogrammet (Nursing Program).

Program Description

The program starts in the fall and consists of two semesters. It provides an introduction to health science mathematics, statistics, and natural sciences, as well as courses that give students an insight into the health science field and its various professions. Students will also learn about health-promoting care and how to apply health science research in practice.

Admission Requirements

To be eligible for the program, students must have:

• Grundlðggande beh—righet (Basic Eligibility) + Samhðllskunskap 1b or 1a1+1a2 (Social Science 1b or 1a1+1a2)
• No specific documents (such as CV or letters of recommendation) are required for application.

Career Opportunities

After completing the program, students are guaranteed a place in one of the health science programs at Lund University. Students will also be eligible to apply for the audionomprogrammet (Audiology Program) at other universities.
