Health Science, BS/Public Health, MPH
The Bachelor of Science in Health Science and Master of Public Health (MPH) combined degree program is designed for students seeking an accelerated pathway to careers in public health leadership, policy, and practice.
Overview
This program allows students to complete both degrees within five years, reducing both time to graduation and overall tuition costs while preparing graduates to address critical public health challenges at the local and global levels.
Curriculum
The Bachelor of Science in Health Science offers an integrative curriculum with courses in health promotion, behavioral science, and health informatics, combined with a global view of health equity and advocacy, providing a strong foundation to tackle emerging challenges and make meaningful contributions.
- HSC 110: Introduction to Health Promotion and Disease Prevention
- This course introduces students to the principles of health promotion and disease prevention.
- PH 602: Social and Behavioral Determinants of Health
- This course explores the social and behavioral factors that influence health outcomes.
- PH 705: Pathways and Interventions for Health Inequities
- This course examines the pathways and interventions for addressing health inequities.
Master of Public Health Program Highlights
- Flexible study blends web-assisted courses with a mix of in-person and online sessions and fully online courses.

- All students complete an Applied Practice Experience, an experiential learning opportunity that provides students with work experience and useful employment leads.

- Applying for the MPH
- Students are encouraged to declare interest in this combined degree program as early as freshman year, but before beginning their junior year to ensure proper course sequencing.
- To continue to the MPH program, students must complete the following by the end of Junior year:
- Complete all prerequisite courses for the MPH program
- Maintain a cumulative GPA above 3.0
- Apply for admission and be accepted to the MPH program
- Tuition and Financial Aid
- For the 20252026 academic year, full-time undergraduate tuition is $52,924.
- Many students pay significantly less due to our generous merit scholarships, which offer up to $33,000 annually, as well as need-based scholarships, grants, on-campus employment opportunities, and loans.
