Introduction to the MS in Computer Science Program
The MS in Computer Science at Pace University is a 30-credit program built on a core of algorithms and computing theory, internet and web computing, grid and cloud computing, and database systems. This master's program prepares students to keep ahead of the latest technologies for an exciting new career or to make a change in their current area.
Program Overview
The MS in Computer Science is a flexible program that offers both in-person classes at the NYC campus and an online experience.
Bridge Course
Entering students with limited or no previous background in computer science or programming are required to take CS 505 Introduction to Computer Science with Java. This course does not count toward the degree, but grades earned are computed into the student's QPA.

Students will choose courses from the current Computer Science academic catalog for a total of 9-15 credits. These can be any 600-799 level course, including:
- CS 627 Artificial Intelligence
- CS 641 Mobile Web Content and Development
- CS 671 Computer Vision
- CS 675 Introduction to Data Science
- CS 677 Machine Learning
- CS 696G Topic: Generative AI Students can take up to 1 non-CS graduate level Seidenberg or Lubin MBA Foundation courses as an elective, with approval of an Academic Advisor or the Department Chair.
Capstone Project or Capstone Thesis
Students are required to select one of the following options: the Computer Science Project (3 credits, taken in the last semester) or Computer Science Thesis (6 credits, taken in the last two semesters). Pursuing a Thesis requires the student to work on a research project under the supervision of a professor.
