Two programs of study are available for the PMHNP concentration:

Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Program of Study Post Master's Certificate

A Post Master's Certificate option is available for the PMHNP concentration.

Program Requirements

To be eligible for the M.S.N. program, applicants must:

• Be a Tennessee resident
• Hold a license to practice as an RN in Tennessee
• Have a Bachelor's degree in Nursing with a GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
• Have successfully completed an undergraduate statistics class

Admission Criteria

Applications are accepted by October 1 for Spring admission and by April 1 for Fall admission.

Program Outcomes

These programs provide the educational preparation to sit for the certification examinations to become a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) or Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP).
