The Learning Disabilities Certificate is a stand-alone certificate that can be documented on official transcripts for professional development. This certificate is designed for individuals interested in working with students with learning disabilities.

Course Guidelines

The typical course requirements for the Learning Disabilities Certificate include:

• SPED 530: Foundations in Mild to Moderate Disabilities (3 semester credit hours)
• SPED 620: Characteristics of Students with Learning & Behavior Disorders (3 semester credit hours)
• SPED 624: Characteristics of Students with Moderate to Severe Learning Disabilities (3 semester credit hours)
• SPED 644: Teaching & Achievement Strategies for Learning Disabilities (3 semester credit hours)
  • Total credit hours: 12
