Principal Certification (EDPC) Program

The Principal Certification program is designed for individuals who wish to pursue a career in educational leadership. The program offers a range of courses that provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary to become effective principals and program administrators.


Course Descriptions

  • EDPC 911: All but Certified (ABC): This professional development course is required for all principal and program administrator certification candidates who have not completed the certification program on time. The course is repeatable each semester until the program is complete.
  • EDPC 912: Leadership Role Seminar: This online course consists of six modules that cover topics such as vision for learning, instructional leadership, organizational management, school/community relations, ethical leadership, and political issues and awareness. Post-masters Administrative Certification Candidates are required to sign up for the course for two consecutive semesters.
  • EDPC 913: Leadership Role Seminar: This online course consists of six modules that cover topics such as vision for learning, instructional leadership, organizational management, school/community relations, ethical leadership, and political issues and awareness. Post-masters Administrative Certification Candidates are required to sign up for the course for two consecutive semesters.
  • EDPC 920: Certification Internship: The internship is a two-semester field experience that places the student-administrator in a first-hand experience in which academic knowledge can be applied to the education setting.
  • EDPC 930: Certification Internship: The internship is a two-semester field experience that places the student-administrator in a first-hand experience in which academic knowledge can be applied to the education setting.
  • EDPC 970: Leadership & Change Planning: This online professional development course consists of one module that addresses planning for school change. The course is designed for those candidates who already hold a Master's Degree in the field of education and is primarily developed for those individuals who have a principal or program administrator certificate.
  • EDPC 971: Leadership & Capacity Building: This online professional development course consists of three modules that address Leadership and Building Capacity in others. The course is designed for those candidates who hold a Master's Degree in the field of education and is primarily developed for those candidates who have a principal or program administrator certificate.
