Program Overview

Master of Therapeutic Radiography

The Master of Therapeutic Radiography course at Queen Margaret University (QMU) combines both practical placements and theoretical elements, making it an ideal choice for those interested in physics and radiation, and a desire to help care for patients with cancer.

Course Structure

The course is perfectly structured, especially from the 2nd year onwards, with a big part of the degree course being on-site work placements. This allows students to learn the theory and then apply it to practice, while picking up practical skills at the same time.

Placement

Students spend 50% of their time on placement from 2nd year onwards in several departments in radiography around Scotland, including Dundee and Aberdeen. This provides an invaluable opportunity to see a range of approaches and methods, and to put the concepts learned at university into practice.

Support Services

QMU has a range of support services, including a disability service, personal academic tutors, and a student ambassador team. These services provide help and support to students throughout their university journey, from academic performance to personal development.

Extracurricular Activities

Students can participate in various extracurricular activities, such as the yoga club, which allows them to meet new people with similar interests and explore their passions.

Career Prospects

After graduation, students can pursue a career as a therapeutic radiographer, with many going on to work for the NHS. The course provides a solid foundation for a career in this field, with graduates being well-equipped to provide high-quality patient care.
