About Program
Program Overview
Paramedic Science Program
The three-year BSc in Paramedic Science programme comprises approximately 50% practice-based learning throughout. The Programme team, alongside the Placement team, have built strong relationships with the Scottish Ambulance Service, various Health and Social care organisations, and third sector/voluntary organisations. This allows students to partake in practice across various settings each year of their studies whilst they progress academically.
Program Structure
The structure of the practice-based learning varies year-by-year and includes:
- Placements within the Scottish Ambulance Service, including Patient Transport Service and A&E Ambulance.
- Placements within Health and Social care settings.
- A placement organised by the student at an organisation of their choosing, addressing learning across the four pillars of paramedic practice.
