Introduction to the LLM Legal Practice Program
The LLM Legal Practice is a rigorous master's program designed to equip students with both in-depth legal knowledge and practical skills required to prepare for the Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE) and to succeed in legal practice.

Employability
This course is aimed at individuals who wish to pursue a career as a solicitor. To become a solicitor, students need to pass two Solicitors Qualifying Exams (SQE1 and SQE2) and gain two years of Qualifying Work Experience (QWE).
Facilities and Staff
The program is based in the Curzon Building, a £63 million development, located on the City Centre campus. The building features two bespoke Law Courtrooms, an extensive Law library, and modern IT facilities.
Admission Requirements
Applicants are normally expected to have an LLB Hons degree in Law at a minimum of a 2:2, or equivalent. International students must also meet the English language requirements, with an IELTS score of 6.5 overall and no less than 6.0 in each band.
Tuition Fees
The tuition fees for the program are:
- £12,880 for UK students in 2026/27
- £20,370 for international students in 2026/27
Application Deadlines
The application deadline is Friday, 17 July, to allow sufficient time for students to prepare to start their studies in September. Late applications will be accepted where places are still available.
Personal Statement
Students will need to submit a personal statement as part of their application, highlighting their passion for postgraduate study, personal skills, and experience.
