The university offers Grants & Funding Opportunities for Students, specifically Student Research and Travel Grants. These grants are designed to support students in their academic and professional pursuits.
Grant Details
Student Research Grants
Student Research Grants can be used for materials and supplies, with a maximum budget of $500. The project duration should not exceed 12 months. These grants are intended to support students in conducting research projects.
Student Travel Grants
Student Travel Grants can be used to travel to academic conferences, including registration fees, poster printing costs, lodging, and airfare/train, with a maximum budget of $1,500 per project. Alternatively, these grants can be used for travel to engage in a significant off-campus research experience, accompanied by a faculty mentor.
Evaluation Criteria
The review criteria for grant applications include:
- An evaluation of the project methodology
- The academic record of the applicant(s)
- Faculty support
- Potential impact to the student(s)'s academic and professional goals Preference will be given to students who have not previously been awarded this type of grant.
Application Deadlines
There are two application deadlines each year:
- October 15th
- March 8th
Grant Requirements
Successful applicants are required to present their research project at the Fairfield University Annual Student Research Symposium in April.
