Program Overview


German Major

The German Major is a 30-credit program that requires students to complete the following courses:


  • Select at least 8 courses taught in German from GRMN 2210 Intermediate German I and above (24 credits)
  • Select up to 1 course taught in English, either from the department's offerings or from the list of approved courses in other departments (3 credits)
  • Select one capstone taught in English (3 credits)
  • Total Credits: 30

Study Abroad Opportunities

German majors are encouraged to study abroad with Fairfield's program in Berlin, Germany or Salzburg, Austria during their junior year or in the summer. The final course for the German major must be taken at Fairfield University.
