Introduction to UniPrep

The University of Southern Queensland's (UniSQ) UniPrep program is designed to prepare students for success in their chosen undergraduate degree. This pathway option is ideal for Year 11 or 12 students who want to experience university-level study, explore alternative entry pathways, or gain confidence in their academic abilities.


Program Overview

UniPrep is a free program for Australian and New Zealand citizens, as well as Australian permanent residents and humanitarian visa holders. The program is delivered online and consists of two units of study, which can be completed in two sessions. Upon completion, students will gain two QCE points, meet the QCE literacy requirement, and develop essential academic skills to succeed at university.

Upon completing UniPrep, students will enhance their core academic skills, gain confidence in their abilities, and be ready to apply for a range of UniSQ undergraduate degrees. What You'll Study

To graduate from UniPrep, students must successfully complete two units of study:


  • AEP1111: Transitioning to University (Session 1)
  • AEP1112: Applied Academic Literacies (Session 2)

These units focus on developing core academic skills, including career development, self-management, and numeracy skills.

Entry Requirements

Applications will be assessed individually, and alternative pathways may be provided for students for whom UniPrep is not the most suitable program.
