The UniSQ Ready program is a tertiary preparation program designed to build general study skills and confidence to study at a university level. It is a pathway to university for those who do not meet the entry requirements of their chosen degree.

Degree Structure

General Pathway

• Students study at least one of the following courses depending on their pathway:
  • TPP0111 - Communicating at University A (1 Unit)
  • TPP0122 - Study Management (1 Unit)
  • TPP0123 - Communicating at University B (1 Unit)
  • TPP0145 - Introduction to the Humanities (1 Unit)
  • TPP0155 - General Science (1 Unit)
  • TPP0160 - Preparatory Physics (1 Unit)
  • TPP0175 - Introduction to Psychology and Counselling (1 Unit)
  • TPP0180 - Introductory Mathematics (1 Unit)
  • TPP0181 - Elementary Mathematics (1 Unit)
  • TPP0182 - General Mathematics (1 Unit)
  • TPP0183 - Mathematical Methods (1 Unit)

TAFE Queensland Pathway

• For students completing an approved TAFE Queensland pathway into UniSQ:
  • TPP0008 - MedSafe Mathematics (1 Unit)
  • TPP0009 - Academic Skills for University (1 Unit)

Entry Requirements

• To be eligible, students must be 18 years or older.
• A short placement test and Academic Literacy Test are recommended prior to receiving an offer to determine the current level of academic literacy and tailor a personalized pathway.

English Language Requirements

• Students must meet the applicable English language requirements.
• In exceptional circumstances, based on the results of the TPP Academic Literacy Levels (ALL) placement test, alternative entry approval may be given.
• Alternative English language proficiency tests may also be accepted.

Entry Pathways

• There are many pathway programs available to fast-track the way to a UniSQ degree and gain confidence to study along the way.
• Assistance is available to decide which pathway is right for each individual.

Fees and Scholarships

• If an Australian or New Zealand citizen (resident in Australia), holder of either Australian Permanent Residency or Australian Permanent Humanitarian visas, there is access to fee-free places in this program.
• Fee-free places are granted for the duration of the program.
• Scholarships are available for academic excellence, community leadership, and financial need.
