Overview

The Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science is a 3.5-year degree that prepares students for a dynamic career as a medical scientist. This clinical role provides critical support to the healthcare team by analyzing patient samples and providing laboratory data to aid in diagnosis and treatment.

Professional Memberships

The Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science is accredited with the Australian Institute of Medical and Clinical Scientists (AIMS). Upon graduation, students are eligible for professional membership of AIMS and can be classified as a Medical Laboratory Scientist. Students are also eligible for free student membership of AIMS, and graduates are eligible for discounted membership.

  • Sound knowledge in English (Units 3 & 4, C) and General Mathematics (Units 3 & 4, C)
  • Recommended study of Biology (Units 3 & 4, C) or Chemistry (Units 3 & 4, C)

English Language Requirements

Students must meet the applicable English language requirements, which include:


  • IELTS (Academic) - Minimum overall score of 7.0 and a minimum score of 6.0 in each of the four components
