Overview

The Diploma of Multidisciplinary Studies is a formal university qualification designed for individuals who haven't completed Year 12, are exploring a specific study area, or are new or returning to study. This diploma provides a strong foundational knowledge of how to study at university, teaching study management strategies, reflective and analytical skills, and enhancing communication and writing abilities.

This includes careers within business, construction, science, engineering, humanities, and liberal arts industries. Upon completion of this diploma, you can graduate with a university qualification or, if eligible, transfer directly into an undergraduate degree to pursue your career goals.

What You'll Study

To graduate from the Diploma of Multidisciplinary Studies, you must successfully complete 8 units of study. The degree structure includes core courses and specializations.

  • Students choose one of the following core courses: DIP1003, DIP1004, or MDS1004.

Entry Requirements

There are many ways to be considered for entry into a UniSQ degree based on your education, work experience, and relevant personal attributes. To be eligible, you must be at least 18 years of age in the year of the proposed enrollment.


Academic Entry Requirements

To be eligible for entry, you must meet the applicable English language requirements. International applicants must have a minimum entry level of IELTS 5.5 or equivalent.

Fees and Scholarships

  • Commonwealth supported: AUD 17,392
  • The Federal Government contributes to the cost of your degree, and you need to pay a student contribution.
  • Fee-free places are granted for the duration of the program for Australian or New Zealand citizens (resident in Australia), holders of either Australian Permanent Residency or Australian Permanent Humanitarian visas.

Additional Costs

You may be required to pay the Student Services and Amenities Fee as part of your degree cost.

  • HECS-HELP: A government loan scheme that allows you to defer payment until your income reaches a certain threshold.
  • UniSQ Scholarships: Available for academic excellence, community leadership, and financial need.
