  • Pre-requisite: Students must be enrolled in one of the following Programs: BSCH (12302 Psychology) or BSHP or MRES (19112 Psychology).
  • BPSH students need to apply for manual enrolment in this course.

Overview

This course is the second of two that contribute towards the Psychology Honours Project. The overall project involves an individual piece of research in a selected area of psychology, gathering, organizing, analyzing, and discussing information concerning an approved research topic in a critical and evaluative manner. The research is based on a study requiring advanced knowledge of research methodology and appropriate techniques for analyzing data.


This is a competency-based course, and assessment items must be successfully completed to pass. These competency items form part of the UniSQ accreditation agreement with the Australian Psychology Accreditation Council (APAC). The course enables students to develop evidence-based skills through presenting their research, completing a research project, and producing a thesis. Students finalize the collection and analysis of data, synthesizing results to write a thesis and communicate findings to other professionals.


Admission Criteria for BPSH Students

  • BPSH students must have completed the first 3 years with a GPA of 5.0 across levels 1 to 3 psychology courses.
  • These students will have to be manually enrolled.
