Program Overview
Diploma of Multidisciplinary Studies
The Diploma of Multidisciplinary Studies is a program that consists of eight courses. After completing four core courses, students may study four specialisation courses from a discipline area or four courses chosen from the list of electives.
Program Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of this program, graduates will be able to:
- Use academic, digital, and cultural literacy skills and knowledge effectively to interpret and communicate information and argument, within an undergraduate program of study.
- Effectively discuss, evaluate and communicate foundation concepts, processes and practices related to mathematical problem-solving and/or humanities.
- Explain and apply concepts of self-regulation, academic self-efficacy, and ethical behaviour appropriate for the university context.
- Apply reflective and analytical thinking to career decision-making processes.
- Study successfully at undergraduate level.

The program is available to start in Trimester 1, Trimester 2, and Trimester 3.

Eligibility for admission to this program is based on applicants meeting all advertised eligibility requirements, or satisfying the requirements of an approved non-standard admission pathway. The University of Southern Queensland accepts a range of qualifications to determine eligibility for admission.

All applicants must demonstrate that they meet the University's English Language requirement.
Recognition of Prior Learning for Credit
If you have prior work or other life experience or have studied previously, you may be eligible for recognition of prior learning (RPL) for credit.

Specialisation Courses
Business and Commerce
Students who successfully complete the Diploma of Multidisciplinary Studies (Business and Commerce) are eligible to apply for direct entry into a range of UniSQ undergraduate degrees. Courses studied in the Diploma of Multidisciplinary Studies could also count as credit toward this undergraduate program.
Construction
Students who successfully complete the Diploma of Multidisciplinary Studies (Construction) are eligible to apply for direct entry into selected UniSQ undergraduate construction degrees.
Creative Arts
Students who successfully complete the Diploma of Multidisciplinary Studies (Creative Arts) are eligible to apply for direct entry into selected UniSQ undergraduate arts degrees.
Engineering
Students who successfully complete the Diploma of Multidisciplinary Studies (Engineering) are eligible to apply for direct entry into selected UniSQ undergraduate engineering degrees.
Indigenous Community Development
Students who successfully complete the Diploma of Multidisciplinary Studies (Indigenous Community Development) are eligible to apply for direct entry into selected UniSQ undergraduate arts degrees.
Science
Students who successfully complete the Diploma of Multidisciplinary Studies (Science) are eligible to apply for direct entry into selected UniSQ undergraduate degrees.
Social Studies
Students who successfully complete the Diploma of Multidisciplinary Studies (Social Studies) are eligible to apply for direct entry into selected UniSQ undergraduate degrees.
Spatial Science
Students who successfully complete the Diploma of Multidisciplinary Studies (Spatial Science) are eligible to apply for direct entry into selected UniSQ undergraduate Surveying degrees.
