University of West Florida Master of Business Administration (MBA) Program
The UWF Master of Business Administration (MBA) Program has been streamlined to enable more people to obtain this widely recognized professional degree. It consists of a core of 33 semester hours.
Admission Requirements
Admission to the MBA program requires a bachelor's degree with high academic achievement from an accredited institution. In addition to the University graduate admission requirements, the department bases decisions for regular admission on a holistic review of credentials, including:
- Submission of Graduate Application and Processing Fee
- Submission of official transcripts
- Furnish a current resume
- Provide answers to essay questions, including:
- Why the applicant chose UWF's MBA program to pursue their educational objectives
- Description of personal and professional achievements within the last five years that indicate potential for a successful business career
- Career considerations
- Any other relevant information to support the application
- Meeting with an MBA Advisor prior to beginning the program
Application Deadlines
To be considered for admission, all application materials must be received by Graduate Admissions by the deadline date. The deadlines are:
- Priority Deadline: July 15 for Fall, November 11 for Spring, and April 15 for Summer
- Firm Deadline: August 1 for Fall, November 15 for Spring, and May 1 for Summer Applications received after the deadline will be considered for the following semester.
MBA Technology Requirements
The decision to enter the Master of Business Administration Program is typically not taken lightly, nor should a student's decision about their computer equipment for the program. To assist in assessing technological readiness for the MBA classes, students should examine the list of required and preferred technology.
Financial Aid Information
The Financial Aid Office helps eligible students meet educational costs while attending UWF. The office provides information and assistance with the financial aid process. The Lewis Bear Jr. College of Business offers a limited number of undergraduate scholarships, graduate scholarships, assistantships, fellowships, and graduate tuition waivers.
Career Development and Community Engagement
UWF's Career Development and Community Engagement is available to students and alumni, offering services such as career education, community and employer engagement opportunities, internships, and more.
VA Information
The University of West Florida's Military and Veterans Resource Center provides information and assistance to students receiving education assistance from the DVA, including peer counseling, referrals to University and community agencies, and monitoring of academic progress. Students receiving benefits from the DVA must visit this office during registration and whenever changes occur to initially reported class schedules.
