Program Overview

The Computer Science (CS) Scholars program is designed to support high-achieving students based on academic merit. It is part of the Hal Marcus College of Science and Engineering (HMCSE).


Program Details

Students in the CS Scholars program will be active members of the Association of Computing Machinery (ACM) or the Association of Information Technology Professionals (AITP). They are required to participate in:


  • Reading programs
  • Competitions related to their field of specialization within Computer Science They will also be encouraged to engage in research with a faculty member, as part of a student group, or as an individual study.

Benefits of the Program

CS Scholars will be able to:


  • Gain a broader and more in-depth perspective of their chosen field in Computer Science, increasing their chances when applying to graduate school or communicating with future employers
  • Improve and practice their technical skills in a non-classroom setting, increasing their marketability to employers
