The University of West Florida offers a summer camp for string students, known as UWF StringFest.

Program Details

UWF StringFest is an annual summer camp for string students from grades 4 12. There are two sessions for StringFest: Junior and Senior.

Junior StringFest

• The Junior StringFest is for students in grades 4-8.
• Participants must have a minimum of 1 year of playing experience and competent sight-reading skills.
• The program takes place from June 15-20, 2026, at the UWF Center for Fine and Performing Arts.
• The participation fee is $150.

Senior StringFest

• The Senior StringFest is for students in grades 7-12.
• Participants must have a minimum of 3 years of playing experience.
• The program takes place from June 7-13, 2026, at the UWF Center for Fine and Performing Arts.
• The participation fee is $200.

Program Activities

• Junior StringFest students participate in orchestra rehearsals and performances.
• Senior StringFest attendees participate in instrumental clinics, small group lessons, string quartet classes, rehearsals, and performances.
• At the culmination of each session, student ensembles perform in the final concert at the Rolfs Music Hall.
