Build Valuable Skills
Manhattan University's online program for chemical engineers fully develops your problem-solving, statistics, modeling, programming, and mathematics communication skills (verbally and in writing), preparing you for roles at prestigious companies or the pursuit of doctoral work.
Participate in Research Remotely
Conducting research is a popular option in this program — about 50% of students participate in research projects with faculty while earning their degree. Many have published their work in peer-reviewed journals or presented their work at conferences. As a fully online student, you may participate in research, too. However, projects must be structured in a way that does not require laboratory work, so you might consider projects involving data analysis, literature review, and/or computer modeling and simulation.
Admission Requirements
Our Master's in Chemical Engineering prerequisites include:
- A bachelor's degree from an engineering program accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET, Inc.
- An undergraduate cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.00 on a 4.00 scale, though other factors may be considered.
- One letter of recommendation from an academic or professional source is a required document along with an application form and transcript.
Program Requirements
At Manhattan University, you must complete a minimum of 30 credit hours, which typically take 1-2 years of study. Part-time students may complete their degrees in approximately three years by taking one or two classes per semester. If you have an undergraduate degree in another engineering or STEM program, there may be a requirement to take prerequisite courses for admission.
