Program Overview

The GVT-805 Washington Seminar on National Security is a comprehensive program that offers students a unique opportunity to explore the defense and intelligence community in the US government. This two-week intensive seminar is held in Washington DC and is carried out in partnership with The Washington Center for Internships and Academic Seminars.


Program Structure

The seminar is divided into two weeks, with the first week focusing on the inner workings of the defense and intelligence community. The second week examines issues, threats, and challenges in global society. The program includes:


  • Briefing sessions with security officials
  • Site visits
  • Small group meetings
  • Keeping a journal
  • Academic papers Additionally, students will be required to complete further academic work after returning to Suffolk.
