Program Overview
Respiratory Therapy Program
Weber State University's Department of Respiratory Therapy prepares students to become a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) and a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT). Career options for graduates include newborn intensive care, adult critical care, emergency rooms, air and ground transport, and sleep medicine.
Program Overview
The Department of Respiratory Therapy offers a Bachelor of Science in Respiratory Therapy. This degree program provides students with the necessary education and training to succeed in the field of respiratory therapy.
Admissions Process
To be admitted to the program, degree-seeking students must complete Math and English General Education requirements. These requirements can be found in the Math and English Requirements video and the WSU Placement website.
Applicant Checklist
The applicant checklist reviews each step students need to take to be a successful candidate for this program. Students should refer to the checklist when choosing general education courses, as many program prerequisites also count as general education requirements.
Helpful Information

- Medical Terminology (HTHS 1101) is highly recommended before the first course in anatomy and physiology.
Health Sciences or Zoology Anatomy & Physiology
Students need to complete either the Health Sciences Integrated Human Anatomy & Physiology (HTHS) class series or the Zoology Human Anatomy & Physiology (ZOOL) class series for entrance into most College of Health Professions programs.
