Distance Paramedic Program

The Distance Paramedic program at Weber State University is designed to provide students with the necessary training to advance their careers in emergency medical services. This program prepares students to sit for paramedic certification exams, with a first-time pass rate of 97% and an overall pass rate of 100% based on the last 5 years.

Program Features

• Attend classes in real-time through Zoom, allowing participation with instructors and students. Lectures are offered online in the evening.
• The program tuition is $7,900, with a duration of two semesters and a course load of 36 credit hours. Financial aid may be available to those who qualify.
• The program allows students to keep their day jobs, as lectures are offered in the evening, and students only come to campus every other weekend for skills lab.
• Upon completion, students earn 58 college credits (including prerequisites) that can be applied toward a degree.

Prerequisites Required

• EMT certification (students must remain certified throughout the course)
• Completed Human Anatomy & Physiology, Medical Terminology, MATH 0990 or higher, and ENGL 1010 or higher
• Minimum GPA of 2.7
