3-Week Online Acting for Film Summer Camp for Teens

The 3-Week Online Acting for Film Camp for teens is a unique opportunity for young actors to study the craft of acting with industry professionals in an online platform. The program is designed to refine students' screen acting skills and provide a deeper exploration of the craft.


Program Description

The 3-Week Online Acting for Film Program is an immersive and in-depth virtual training experience. With three weeks of structured lessons, hands-on exercises, and personalized feedback, students will develop their technique, work on complex scenes, and gain a stronger understanding of the film and television industry.


Core Subjects

The program covers the following core subjects:


  • Monologues: Students will work on assigned monologues, focusing on emotional depth, character development, and technical performance for the camera.
  • Acting for Film: Students will explore how to adjust their acting for different shot sizes, maintain continuity, and deliver nuanced performances that translate effectively on screen.
  • Improvisation: This class strengthens spontaneity, creativity, and adaptabilitycritical skills for auditions and on-set work.
  • The Business of Acting: Students will receive essential industry insights, learning about headshots, resumes, representation, and self-marketing.
  • Scene Study: This class builds on the fundamentals of acting through an in-depth study of scripted scenes.
  • Audition Technique: Students will be introduced to on-camera auditioning, cold reading skills, and the preparation techniques necessary for success in professional film and television auditions.

All tuition costs and fees are listed in USD and are subject to change. Tuition prices and fees are only guaranteed one semester at a time and are subject to increase or decrease. An annual increase is expected for all tuition and fees. Costs listed above do not include housing, food, transportation, books, additional necessary supplies, activities fee, or health insurance.


Accreditation and Approvals

The New York Film Academy is approved to operate by the California Bureau for Private Postsecondary Education (BPPE). "Approval" or "approval to operate" means that the institution is compliant with the minimum standards contained in the California Private Postsecondary Education Act of 2009 (as amended) and Division 7.5 of Title 5 of the California Code of Education.
