Meteorology, Certificate

The Meteorology, Certificate program is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of meteorology.


Course Requirements

The program requires the completion of the following courses:


  • GEO 230: Intro to Meteorology (CT) - 4 credit hours
  • GEO 450: Extreme Weather - 4 credit hours
  • GEO 460: Weather Analysis - 4 credit hours
  • A total of at least 7 credit hours from the following courses:
    • GEO 101: Physical Geography (CT)
    • GEO 355: Aviation Weather
    • GEO 425: Climatology
    • GEO 426: Geographic Information Systems
    • GEO 431: Remote Sensing & Photogram
    • GEO 480: Special Topics
    • GEO 481: Special Topics
    • GEO 482: Special Topics
    • GEO 483: Special Topics
    • GLY 150: Intro Oceanography
    • GLY 150L: Intro Oceanography Lab The total credit hours required for the program is 19.
