Program Overview


Program Overview

The University of Hartford offers a summer program called SPLIT: Summer Place Leaders In Training. This program is designed for students and provides a variety of activities and experiences.


Session Fees

The program fees are as follows:


  • Session 1: $775 (standard rate), $700 (early registration)
  • Session 2: $860 (standard rate), $775 (early registration)
  • Session 3: $860 (standard rate), $775 (early registration)
  • All six sessions: $2,245 (standard rate), $2,025 (early registration)

Extended Hours

Extended hours are available for participants in any Summer Place program. The fees for extended hours are:


  • 7:15—8:15 a.m.: $125 (Week 1), $140 (Session 2), $140 (Session 3), $405 (all six sessions)
  • 4:30—6 p.m.: $180 (Week 1), $200 (Session 2), $200 (Session 3), $580 (all six sessions)

Lunch and Snacks

SPLIT campers may either bring their own brown-bag lunch each day or purchase a full session of prepaid bag lunches prepared by the University of Hartford's food service company, Aramark. The lunch fees are:


  • Session 1: $100
  • Session 2: $110
  • Session 3: $110
  • All three sessions: $320

Bus Service

Bus transportation is offered on three separate routes, with a total of 10 stops at convenient locations throughout Greater Hartford. The bus service is free of charge. Door-to-door bus service is available for West Hartford residents at an additional cost.

  • Bus #1–Free:
    • Riverfront Park (near the boathouse), 300 Welles Street, Glastonbury: 7:20 a.m. (pick-up), 5:49 p.m. (drop-off)
    • Wethersfield Shopping Center (left side), Silas Deane Highway, Wethersfield: 7:33 a.m. (pick-up), 5:31 p.m. (drop-off)
    • Newington High School, Willard Avenue, Newington: 7:53 a.m. (pick-up), 5:10 p.m. (drop-off)
    • Sigourney Street Station, Platform D, Hawthorne Street, Hartford: 8:15 a.m. (pick-up), 4:45 p.m. (drop-off)
  • Bus #2–Free:
    • Shoppes at Farmington Valley, Rte 44, Barnes & Noble back parking lot, Canton: 7:37 a.m. (pick-up), 5:25 p.m. (drop-off)
    • Sperry Park, Entrance Parking Lot, Route 10, Avon: 7:47 a.m. (pick-up), 5:10 p.m. (drop-off)
    • Iron Horse Boulevard Commuter Lot, rear Drake Hill Mall, Simsbury: 7:58 a.m. (pick-up), 5:00 p.m. (drop-off)
    • Northwest Catholic High School–Athletic Fields Parking Lot, West Hartford: 8:12 a.m. (pick-up), 4:40 p.m. (drop-off)
  • Bus #3–Free (West Hartford route):
    • Wolcott Park–New Britain Avenue (43 Wolcott Road Parking Lot): 7:56 a.m. (pick-up), 4:57 p.m. (drop-off)
    • Bishops Corner–Behind Marshalls: 8:11 a.m. (pick-up), 4:43 p.m. (drop-off)

Door-to-Door Bus Service

Door-to-door bus service is available for West Hartford residents at an additional cost. The fees are:


  • Week 1 (No July 3): $140
  • Week 2–6: $175
  • All six sessions: $1,015
