Music History I: Gender and Sexualities
This 4-hour course explores the relationship between past and present, examining systems of privilege and oppression associated with the intersection of gender, sexualities, race, socio-economic status, and other markers of identity. Students learn and apply information from music, history, culture, and gender studies, developing and applying music research skills in historical social/cultural context and current published scholarship.
