Course Description
A survey of geology and geophysics is provided through the course PHYS 1100 Introduction to Geology. Topics include:
- Characteristics of minerals and rocks
- Plate tectonics
- Earth's interior
- Earth history and time scales
- Surface processes
- Ocean processes
The course consists of three lectures per week and one laboratory per week.
Prerequisites
Prerequisite(s): One year of high school algebra or permission of instructor.
