Course Overview

The FdA Performing Arts program is a full-time course that runs at the college's dedicated on-site facility, the Jellicoe Theatre. The program includes a mixture of practical and theoretical sessions, with students studying a specialist program focused on performance. This program offers a broad but interconnected selection of units, including old and new performance-based methodologies, musical theatre performance, dramaturgy, analysis of contemporary play texts, voice-over, acting for online gaming, and professional development.

Course Content

The course content is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the performing arts industry. Students will engage in practical introductions to performance, from audition to full-scale production, and will work on singing, acting, dance, and voice for industry-focused careers. The program also includes units on performance contexts and criticism, ensuring that students understand the theoretical underpinnings of performance.

Admission Requirements

To apply for the FdA Performing Arts program, students must meet the following admission requirements:

• Four GCSE passes at Grade 4 (formerly C) minimum, including Maths and English or equivalent
• Two A Levels or an equivalent Level 3 qualification, such as a BTEC Extended Diploma or NVQ3
• Level 3 Advanced Diploma in Creative and Media may be considered in combination with other qualifications
• An Access to Higher Education Diploma
• UCAS tariff points 48 from two full A Levels or equivalent, including one full A Level at 32 tariff points (i.e., Grade C) in a relevant subject

Course Costs

The tuition fee for the FdA Performing Arts program is Ł7,750 per academic year. Students who are eligible can apply for a student loan to cover the cost of tuition fees.
