Program Overview


Master of Artificial Intelligence and Business Analytics

The Master of Artificial Intelligence and Business Analytics (MAIBA) at Cape Breton University is a 16-month program designed to prepare students for a world where AI, machine learning, and advanced analytics are reshaping every industry. This program blends cutting-edge technology with business insight, sustainability principles, and Indigenous perspectives to develop future-ready professionals.


Program Overview

The MAIBA program is built for a world where organizations need to turn massive data into meaningful insights. It prepares students to lead with the technical, analytical, and ethical skills needed in today's data-driven global economy.


Admission Requirements

  • Four (4) year undergraduate degree (or equivalent) from a recognized or accredited university in science, mathematics, computer science, business, economics, or engineering.
  • Minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 (73-76%) or B in the final 60 credits of study.
  • Successful completion of a statistics course with at least 70% final grade.
  • Applicants who do not meet standard academic criteria may be considered for admission based on GMAT scores and/or professional experience, as outlined on a CV.

Program Delivery and Structure

The MAIBA is offered in-person on CBU's campus, with both full-time (16-months) and part-time options available. In the final study semester, students can choose between completing a 420-hour internship or a Master's project to complete their degree.
