Elementary School Music Camp

The 10th annual Colorado Mesa University Elementary School Music Camp is a week-long event designed for students who have graduated 4th or 5th grade as of June 1, 2026. The camp is limited to 80 students and runs from 8:45am-4pm each day.

Camp Details

• The camp offers various enrichment courses, including:
  • Actor 101: An introduction to the basics of acting, the stage, and backstage through fun games and activities.
  • Percussion Ensemble: Exploration of drums, xylophones, and other percussion instruments, culminating in a final performance at the Friday concert.
  • Music Technology: A limited course (32 campers) where students learn to create, edit, and manipulate music on the Mac Lab.
  • Drums Alive: A combination of music and movement using Yoga Balls, buckets, and Drumsticks to work on coordination, beat, and rhythm.
• Additional enrichment courses include:
  • Triple Threat: For campers who love to sing, act, and dance, focusing on becoming a triple threat for Broadway or TV.
  • Line Dancing: Learning various line dances, such as the Electrics slide, the Cupid shuffle, or Cotton Eyed Joe.
  • Rock Keyboard: A limited course (32 campers) introducing students to playing chords and jamming out on the keyboard.
  • Bucket Drumming: Exploring drumming technique, hand independence, pulsing music, and rhythmic driving through drumming on 5-gallon buckets.
