Introduction to the Fulbright Awards for Canadian Scholars
The Canada-U.S. Fulbright Program operates on the principle of reciprocal exchange, providing opportunities for outstanding Canadian scholars to lecture and/or conduct research in the United States. Award recipients include prominent and promising scholars, as well as experienced professionals.
Program Overview
The Fulbright Canada program is a joint, bi-national, treaty-based organization created to encourage mutual understanding between Canada and the United States of America through academic and cultural exchange. It is supported by the Canadian Government through Global Affairs Canada, by the United States Government through the Department of State, and by a diverse group of corporate sponsors, charitable trusts, and university partners.
Governance and Operations
Fulbright Canada is governed by an independent Board of Directors and operates out of Ottawa. The program offers opportunities to University of Regina scholars, among others, to participate in academic and cultural exchanges.
Eligibility and Participation
- The program is open to outstanding Canadian scholars, including prominent and promising scholars, as well as experienced professionals.
- Opportunities are available for scholars to lecture and/or conduct research in the United States.
- The program aims to encourage mutual understanding between Canada and the United States through academic and cultural exchange.
