The Terry Scholars Program is a prestigious scholarship program that provides financial assistance to students at Texas State University. Individuals awarded the Terry Foundation Scholarship are automatically admitted to the Honors College.

Program Details

Study Abroad Stipend Request

• To be eligible for a study abroad stipend, students must have been officially accepted to a study abroad program and received a letter from the Education Abroad office.
• The request for study abroad funding is a two-step process:
  • Submit an online form with details regarding travel.
  • Submit a brief description of the request and upload the education abroad acceptance letter via the Terry Scholar Portal (as a .doc or .pdf).
• Disbursement of funds requires a minimum of 2.5 semester and 3.00 cumulative GPAs at the time of travel.

Summer Stipend Request

• To be eligible for a summer stipend, students must submit the summer stipend form online and have met with their major's academic advisor to ensure proper degree planning.
• Summer stipends typically require full-time enrollment (12 hours), though some exceptions may be made under extenuating circumstances with additional documentation.
• The request for a summer stipend is a two-step process:
  • Submit an online form with details of summer coursework.
  • Submit a brief description of the request via the Terry Scholar Portal.

Honors College

• The Honors College is located in Lampasas Hall, 601 University Drive, San Marcos, TX 78666.
• The Honors College offers various programs and opportunities for students, including honors courses, capstone projects, and events.
