Program Overview
Osher Lifelong Learning Institute
The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at University of the Pacific is a non-profit education program designed for people ages 50+ and open to all adult learners. Each year, OLLI provides intellectually stimulating non-credit classes, interest groups, local and international trips, and special events for its members.
Membership Tiers
OLLI offers various membership tiers, each with its own set of benefits:
- The Copper Club: This is the basic entry membership to take classes. Members may also attend Shared Interest Groups and Special Presentations.
- The Bronze Essentials: This membership includes the Copper Club benefits, plus additional benefits listed on the page (excluding access to the lecture series).
- The Silver Star: This membership gives members access to the Copper Club, plus the lecture series and recordings (excluding other benefits listed on the page).
- The Gold Standard: This membership includes all the benefits of the Copper Club, Bronze Essentials, and Silver Star.
Benefits of Membership
Members with a Gold Standard or Bronze Essential membership are entitled to the following benefits:
- Early notification for campus events focused on older adult topics
- Weekly digital newsletter to keep members up-to-date with current activities
- Free admission for two to Conservatory concerts for the entire year
- International travel opportunities
- Eligibility to join the Baun Fitness Center or Kjeldsen Swimming Pool
- Free early and late access to Pickleball Courts
- Free Pacific Library privileges
- Eligibility to serve on the OLLI Advisory Board
- Discounts at select restaurants and stores
- Reduced concert ticket prices for Friends of Chamber Music and Stockton Symphony music concerts
- Discounts at all Pacific Athletic Events
- OLLI member ID card with 10% off meals on campus
- Early enrollment notification
Courses and Classes
OLLI offers various courses and classes, including:
- Birding 101 Continued: An intermediate birding class covering topics such as migration-timing, habitat usage, and bird identification.
- Gardening: A series of classes presented by the UCCE Master Gardeners of San Joaquin County, covering gardening knowledge and skills.
Registration and Membership
Membership is required to register for classes and courses. Members can register online, by mail, or in-person. A minimum of 10 registered members is required for each class to proceed.
