Doctor of Business Administration

The Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) degree builds on the knowledge and skills of students who have completed master's level study in business and business-related disciplines. The DBA creates scholar-practitioners who are able to provide meaningful contributions to the advancement of business research and practice.

Features and Benefits

The program incorporates a blended delivery approach utilizing technology and face-to-face instruction to create a combination of synchronous and asynchronous pedagogy. Or students may choose to attend in an online-only format. The supervised culminating experience of not less than nine credit hours will result in the production of either a Peer-Reviewed Publication, Conference Presentation or Work-Based Project.

Program Requirements

To qualify for the DBA degree, the student must successfully complete the program of study as specified in the degree plan, including the Culminating Experience. This can be done by a total of three peer-reviewed presentations, conference presentations or work-based projects. Students must successfully complete a minimum of three semesters and must make at least two unique selections (students may not publish three articles, make three presentations or complete three work-based projects) to satisfy program requirements.

Accreditation

The Doctor of Business Administration program of the UIW School of Professional Studies is fully accredited by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP). The University of the Incarnate Word is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges.
