Pre-Foundation Program
Course in Pre-Foundation Studies (CPFS)
The Course in Pre-Foundation Studies (CPFS) is designed for those who plan to study at Westminster International University in Tashkent (WIUT). The main purpose of the CPFS is to improve the English and Mathematics skills of future entrants to WIUT.
Aims of the Course
The course curriculum aligns with the Cambridge IGCSE framework, utilizing Cambridge textbooks for both Mathematics and English. Additionally, students have the optional opportunity to take the Cambridge qualification exam at the end of the Level 2 and obtain a Cambridge certificate, which does not have an expiration date.
Structure
The CPFS is structured into two levels:
- Level 1: Two years (Part-time) for students from 9th and 10th Grades
- Level 2: One year (Part-time) for students in the 11th Grade or graduates of secondary school

- Math Fee: 9,900,000 UZS
- English Fee: 9,900,000 UZS
Timetable
- Maths: On Tuesdays and Thursdays, 10:00 11:30, 15:00 16:30, 17:00 18:30
- English: On Mondays and Wednesdays, 10:00 11:30, 15:00 16:30, 17:00 18:30
Key Learning Outcomes
- Acquire English and Mathematical knowledge, skills, and understanding for university entry
- Develop self-management and autonomous learning skills for academic success
- Foster a positive attitude towards learning and the university environment
- Gain entry to WIUT without the need for IELTS or a university Maths entrance exam
- Achieve English proficiency equivalent to B2 (CEFR)
- Attain a Mathematics level equivalent to GCSE, sufficient for CIFS requirements
- Demonstrate study skills in the Use of English, Numeracy, and Communication
Entry Requirements
- General requirements: Applicants must have completed 8 years of Secondary Education or an equivalent qualification
- English language requirement:
- Level 1: Score 40-59% in the WIUT CPFS entrance exam or have 4.5 or 5.0 in IELTS
- Level 2: Score at least 60% in the WIUT CPFS entrance exam or have 5.5 in IELTS (provided the writing band score is at least 5.0)
- Maths requirement:
- Level 1: Score 20-39% in the WIUT CPFS entrance exam
- Level 2: Score at least 40% in the WIUT CPFS entrance exam or have a minimum of 40% in the Mathematics University entrance exam
