Studio 814 School of Performing Arts
The Studio 814 School of Performing Arts is a fine arts enrichment program offering students of every age an opportunity to grow as performing artists. The program provides instruction in music, dance, and drama, from individualized private lessons to group classes and performance opportunities.
About Us
Studio 814 School of Performing Arts is part of the British International School of Chicago Lincoln Park. The music lesson program began as the BISCLP Music School in 2006 and includes students from the British International School of Chicago and the local community. The program has carefully selected talented faculty members with a wealth of teaching experience and individual skill to ensure the best possible learning experiences for students.
Music Lessons
The program offers the following music lessons:
- Piano: Age 3 and up
- Violin: Age 4 and up
- Cello: Age 4 and up
- Ukulele: Age 4 and up
- Guitar: Age 4 and up
- Music Theory: Age 5 and up
- Electric & Bass Guitar: Age 6 and up
- Drums: Age 6 and up
- Saxophone: Age 6 and up
- Trumpet: Age 6 and up
- Oboe: Age 6 and up
- Clarinet: Age 6 and up
- Flute: Age 6 and up
- Voice: Age 6 and up
- Composition/Music Theory/Ear Training: Age 5 and up
Group Lessons
The program offers group lessons in:
- Voice & Music Theory
- Additional group lessons may be added based on demand and teacher availability
Lesson Details
Studio814 lessons are held Monday through Friday before, during, and after-school, and Saturdays from 8:30am-1:30pm at the British International School of Chicago, Lincoln Park. The school is open to all students at BISC, along with everyone from the surrounding Chicago area.
ABRSM Exams
The program offers the opportunity to sit the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music graded music examinations in Grades 1-8, along with a Prep Test for young students or beginners.
