Introduction to the Notre Dame MSM Program
The M.S. in Management at Notre Dame is a highly regarded program, ranked as the 10th best post-graduation salary among global programs. The program's value extends beyond financial returns, as students gain lifelong connections, build a strong professional network, and develop skills that shape their careers for years to come.
Program Overview
The Notre Dame MSM program is uniquely suited to help students from non-business backgrounds succeed in business. The program brings a mindset of excellence in educating the whole person, reflective of the Notre Dame mission. With a depth of foundational business language and incredible academic diversity, students from over 50 different academic majors come together to learn and grow.
Career Path and Job Acceptance
The MSM program consistently has a 90+% job acceptance rate within 6 months, with 93% in 2023. The curriculum includes a variety of courses in all functional areas of business, allowing students to "speak the language of business" and pursue their desired career path. Concentrations in finance and marketing are also available, enabling students to take a deeper dive into one of these areas.
Experiential Learning Opportunities
The program offers two primary areas for experiential learning: Business Problem Solving and Grow Irish Week.
- Business Problem Solving (BPS) course: students use techniques and tools practiced by leading consulting firms to increase proficiency in identifying problems, generating ideas, gathering data, and communicating recommendations effectively.
- Cases are provided by consulting firms, and teams present their recommendations to a panel of representatives from the firm.
- Grow Irish Week: a hands-on experience with business applications, including a consulting project involving a local company and their unique problems.
Program Support and Community
The MSM program is designed for non-business backgrounds with less than 2 years of work experience, offering tremendous faculty support and an academically diverse cohort. The community of students recognizes that unity is their strength, and they work together in diverse learning teams to support each other's academic and social needs.
Professional and Personal Support
The Mendoza Graduate Career Development office provides MSM students with career tools and strategies to help them land their "dream" job and navigate career changes throughout their lifetime.
- The "Bridge to Success" course empowers students to discover their career path and provides the strategy and tools to make it a reality.
- Each student has access to a personal career coach who offers guidance and support over the course of their time at Notre Dame.
- Notre Dame's large and active alumni community, with over 260 local alumni clubs in 42 countries, provides students with unparalleled resources and opportunities to connect with alumni and enhance their career, personal life, and faith.
