Program Overview

Webbutveckling II

Course Description

The course covers advanced development for the web. On the client-side, it deals with dynamic web pages using JavaScript. On the server-side, it covers programming within code separation, session management, message handling, databases, content management, and security. After completing the course, the student should be well-versed in creating advanced web-based systems for both the client and server sides.

Course Structure

The course is conducted entirely online, and students learn individually without group work. The pedagogy is task-based learning, where students are motivated to actively seek solutions to tasks on their own.

Teaching

The course covers a broad area by presenting a series of tasks, each of which:

  1. Focuses on a sub-area at a time to increase understanding and reduce complexity.
  2. Is generally specified to motivate alternative solutions and deepen understanding.

The course requires the ability to work independently but has a significant element of interactivity through supervision online.

Examination

The examination consists of a number of practical tasks:

  • Mandatory tasks that are broad and cover the core of the course.
  • Voluntary tasks that are in-depth within the course's area.
  • The final mandatory task is a comprehensive free task (journeyman's test).

The grade is determined by how many voluntary tasks are completed and how well the journeyman's test is performed.
