Programme Description

The programme is primarily taught in Swedish, but some courses are offered in English. These English-taught courses include:

• Stellar structure and evolution, 7.5 hp (AS5002)
• Cosmology, 7.5 hp (AS5003)
• Astrophysical spectra, 7.5 hp (AS5004)
• Astronomy, degree project, 15 hp (AS6002)
• The astronomer's digital toolbox course, self-study course

Programme Details

• Duration and Credits: 180 credits, typically completed over three years.
• Start Date: Autumn 2026, Period 1, Day-time, 100% On campus.
• Language: English (primary) and Swedish.

• Eligibility: Physics course 2, Chemistry course 1, Mathematics course 4 or course D. Alternatively: Physics level 2, Chemistry level 1, Mathematics Further level 2.
• Selection: The grade point average of your upper secondary school leaving certificate (67%), the Swedish national university aptitude test (33%).
• Tuition Fee: Applies to citizens from outside EU, EEA, or Switzerland. First instalment: 70,000 SEK. The complete course fee is provided separately.
