Program Overview
Master's Programme in AI and Language
The Master's Programme in AI and Language is designed to equip students with a broad skill set for a career in AI and language, both within and outside academia. The programme spans four full-time semesters and comprises both mandatory and optional courses.
Programme Overview
The programme covers a broad, interdisciplinary field that involves modelling human linguistic behaviour using digital methods. Students will become experts in developing and using AI to handle linguistic data, both in the form of text and speech, while also becoming aware of the limitations, risks, and ethical problems of this technology.

- Project Course in AI and Language, 15 ECTS credits (main field: Language Informatics)
- Elective and/or optional courses amounting to 15 ECTS credits
- Semester 4
- Master's Thesis in AI and Language, 30 ECTS credits (main field: Language Informatics)
Eligibility and Admission
- A degree of 180 ECTS credits, including a degree project, in linguistics, computational linguistics, language technology, computer science, computer and systems sciences, cognitive science, engineering physics, engineering mathematics, or equivalent.
- Swedish upper secondary school course English 6 or equivalent.
- The quality/subject of the Bachelor's Thesis, motivation letter, and the relevance of previous studies in relation to the programme are considered in the selection process.
Tuition Fee
Applies to citizens from outside EU, EEA, or Switzerland. The first instalment is 67,500 SEK. The complete course fee is provided upon inquiry.
